Eurotech Internet • Marketing was founded by John van der Kieft and Ray Hyde. Although no longer actively involved in the day-to-day running of the busines, Eurotech still relies on John's seven years of experience in computer sales and marketing as marketing manager at MicroWarehouse, Inc.
Ray Hyde is the owner of Eurotech Internet • Marketing. Ray can boast of 25 years of experience in IT marketing. After working initially as marketing communications manager for a manufacturer of electro-technical goods, and subsequently for an electro-technical wholesale company, Ray started working for WordPerfect, just as this company was getting under way in the Netherlands. Initially responsible for both marcom and printed matter such as manuals, Ray took his part in making WordPerfect one of the most successful software applications ever sold in the Netherlands, with a market share of over 83%, and a brand recognition among general decision makers of 67%, thereby placing it in the Top-25 of all Dutch companies*
After the takeover of WordPerfect by Novell, Inc., Ray Hyde started working as channel program manager on a European level for Novell. His main responsibility was tying the WordPerfect business applications into the existing Novell dealer programs, as well as keeping up the regular contacts with the channel, such as the provision of information and training.
After two years of working for Novell, Ray decided he could put his marketing experience in both low-end business applications and high-end networking to good use when working on his own. He founded the company 'Market Action' in close cooperation with a Dutch PR company. Market Action started out on the idea of helping US companies enter the Dutch market, but as its network could also be used easily for Dutch-based companies looking for an outsourced marketing department, Market Action worked almost entirely for these types of IT companies on a project basis. Not satisfied with this, Ray Hyde started looking for a partner in the market that could supply the necessary sales skills and knowledge of the US market. On January 1st, Eurotech Internet • Marketing was established.
